Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Deep garner in color, this Pinot Noir is elegant with finely textured tannins and vibrant acidity. Bing cherry and sultry red plum combine with floral notes of rose hip and enticing spices. Sweet, toasted oak notes impress on the round, lengthy finish.
Vineyard Notes
This Pinot Noir is made from the historic Dijon 115 clone from Burgundy, which is celebrated for its intense flavor, excellent color, and the lushness and finesse it imparts into the wine. Carneros is the perfect place in Napa Valley for growing fine Pinot Noir and this clone, as it achieves its elegance and full expression when grown in cooler regions. Carneros receives constant cooling from the ocean.
Winemaker Notes
The 2019 growing season in Napa Valley will continue to be celebrated in years to come. While bud-break was delayed due to a cooler Spring, the warm yet steady summer months allowed the grapes to ripen evenly. Grapes in the Napa Valley also befitted from a long, slow Harvest without heat spikes or rain. Winemakers, including our own, reported that their 2019 wines show great complexity, expression and power.
