Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Enticing aromas of cocoa, mocha, and juicy blackberries intrigue the senses and jump out of the glass with this beautiful, dark Cabernet Sauvignon. While flavors of black cherry, cassis, plum, and savory baking spices delight the palate, the soft, rich mouthfeel and supple tannins carry through to a lengthy finish. Bold and elegant, this wine is perfect for all occasions.
Vineyard Notes
Vineyards located on the mountains, including the distinguished Atlas Peak and Howell Mountain, bring bright acidity, rich tannins and powerful berry, cherry and herbaceous notes. The Rutherford fruit imparts intense cherry, cassis and violet notes, along with crisp acidity and firm tannins. The vineyards on the more fertile valley floor provide ripe, juicy fruit notes and fleshy tannins.
Winemaker Notes
The 2018 growing season in Napa valley was steady with great conditions for growing all varieties. The beautiful conditions kicked off with a sunny spring that led to the vines flowering uniformly and ensuring even cluster development. Summer temperatures were steady, and the Valley befitted from a long, slow Harvest without heat spikes or rain. Cabernet Sauvignon, the last-picked variety always, experienced extended hang time with warm days and cool nights, allowing the grapes to reach their full ripeness and expression. The complex, layered and high-quality wines of this vintage, especially the powerful reds which will continue to age gracefully, will be remembered and celebrated in years to come.
